Having selected the first Miss Rodeo Oregon in 1957 the organization has continued over the years to be comprised of hardworking volunteers that help to ensure the success and expansion of the organization and its programs. Information about the program in its early years is scarce, but in recent years Miss Rodeo Oregon Pageant, Inc. has taken great strides in becoming a strong and successful youth oriented organization, providing a program for Oregon horsewomen that encourages positive growth in strength of character and personality, healthy attitudes, self-fulfillment and self-respect. Miss Rodeo Oregon, Inc. is organized and conducted to select the most qualified young Oregon horsewoman to promote the sport of professional rodeo in Oregon, and to represent the State of Oregon at the annual Miss Rodeo America Pageant.
It is with great excitement that we announce the return of the Junior Teen Sweetheart Pageant to the Tillamook County Rodeo!! This rodeo has been held on the fourth weekend in June every year since 1987 and with its objective to assist the youth of Tillamook County, it makes the perfect partnership with the Junior Teen Pageant! Also, our titleholders absolutely love the third-longest parade in the state and contestants will take part in it during the pageant.
Within the next ten days, we will be celebrating the accomplishments of our Miss Teen Rodeo Oregon Meredith Moore and Junior Miss Rodeo Oregon Rowdy Israel! We are so proud of them and how they are rising to the challenge of fundraising and planning their coronations. Take a look back at their pageant program from last July!
