Jaimi Wilkinson McDermitt, NV

Jaimi Wilkinson resides in McDermitt Nevada where she and her husband Nick and children Hyland and Staheli own and operate a 1,200 head cattle ranch in rural Malheur County.  The Wilkinson family has been in the cattle industry for more than a hundred years and now possesses the largest Angus Source Verified herd west of the Rocky Mountains.

Professionally, Jaimi works as a Special Education Teacher’s Assistant for Humboldt County School District and has coached Varsity Girls Basketball and Volleyball since 1995. She is a four time Nevada 1-A Coach of the year recipient and in 2010 led the Lady Bulldogs to Nevada Girls 1A State Basketball Runner Up title. Last summer she was honored to be invited to judge the Nevada State High School Queen Contest and is scheduled to judge the Silver State Invitational Rodeo Queen Contest in July.

Jaimi served as secretary for McDermitt’s Annual Ranch Hand Rodeo for 7 years and now enjoys spending her free time following her family with their second love which is rodeo and more specifically team roping.  Staheli competes in team roping and barrel racing and is an accomplished and decorated athlete.  Hyland will be attending Treasure Valley

Community College this fall and will be a member of their College Rodeo Team, competing in Team Roping and Saddle Bronc Riding.

Some of her fondest memories stem from the year her daughter Staheli held the title of Junior Miss Rodeo Oregon.  Together they traveled over 18,000 miles promoting the sport of rodeo and their western way of life.  “I know first hand the dedication and family commitment required to succeed in the rodeo queen world and believe the experiences I shared with my family have enriched my life beyond measure in terms of personal growth and the promotion of America’s original sport…rodeo!”

Ashley Ekstrom- Castle Rock, WA

Ashley Ekstrom currently resides is Castle Rock, Washington. Ashley is a pre-med student at Lower Columbia College in Longview, Washington and is active with the Global Medical Brigades. Last September she went on a medical trip with the Medical Brigades to Honduras to help people in devastating areas with their health needs as well as educating them on proper health care. Ashley enjoys riding and training horses in her spare time as well as giving lessons to children and special needs children, primarily with autism. She enjoys staying active within her community and helping coach young girls who want to try out for rodeo queen titles, because she has seen first-hand the positive impact being a rodeo queen has made on her life and wants more girls to experience that.
