2011 Junior Miss Rodeo Oregon

Queen Haley Jones

Haley Marie Jones lives in St. Helens, Oregon with her parents, Brian Jones and Keeley Weber-Jones. Haley has two siblings, an older sister, Cassidy, and a younger brother, Max. At the age of four, Haley rode a horse for the first time and she was fearless. Haley decided that she wanted to try out for Junior Miss Rodeo Oregon in January 2010 and started pursuing her dream.

With the help of her trainer, Kathie Cheney, she was able to further her knowledge in horsemanship. With her horse Jett, she practiced 24/7 until personal perfection was achieved. Haley feels very fortunate to have had such amazing influences during this time in her life. The support of her family, friends, and Jett really inspired her to give the pageant her all. When the pageant finally arrived, Haley was all nerves but found a way to channel her nerves into productivity, winning in horsemanship and appearance categories, she won the 2011 crown.

That same month, Haley suffered the set back of having to find a new horse for her year, as Jett had grown old and wouldn’t be able to be her partner for 2011. Haley met Maverick in Rainer, Oregon and it was love at first sight. Maverick is a handsome 15.2 sorrel Quarter Horse gelding and has been a rodeo queens horse previously. Haley and Maverick have already competed in 8 game shows and they took 2nd place in poles during their 3rd time competing! They are a fantastic team!

In her spare time, Haley enjoys reading, playing all kinds of sports, hanging out with her friends and most importantly to her, spending time with her horses. Haley is an honor roll student. Haley plans on traveling the beautiful state of Oregon to promote her favorite sport, rodeo, to people of all ages. She is both excited and honored to be 2011 Junior Miss Rodeo Oregon.
