Meet 2012 Junior Miss Rodeo Oregon
My name is Ashley Nicole Ferch I am the 14 year old daughter of Dustin and Karen Ferch. I reside on A Place of Hope Ranch in Riddle, Oregon with my parents and younger brother, Will and sister, Natalie.
I grew up in a ranching and rodeo family. Countless hours I spent intently listening to rodeo stories. So it seemed only natural to want to be a part of it, in my own way. I believe the horses in your life not only help shape you as a rider, but also as a person. I can credit my first little ornery pony with teaching me patience, determination, a good seat and a great sense of humor. This year I will be traveling the state of Oregon with a horse named Deuce. She is hard working and dependable, but it has not always been an easy road. It has taken a long time to earn her trust and respect and more than once I ended up in the dirt with her standing above me with a questioning look, as if to say, Are you ready to give up yet? After a few tears and a pep talk from my mom, I got back on, every time. With her, I have learned that time, understanding and many miles in a saddle can take you to the door steps of your dreams.
From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank my family, friends and sponsors. You all have helped make this amazing opportunity possible with your love, prayers and support. I will work hard to make you all proud.
