Visiting Royalty 2012 Miss Rodeo Oregon Pageant Fashion Show

The 2012 Miss Rodeo Oregon Contestants were up bright and early for a Fashion show Rehearsal held at Canby Highschool commons area.  They were joined by our current 2011 titleholders as well as a variety of visiting royalty from other Oregon and Washington rodeos.  This years theme for the Fashion show was “Celebrating 75 years of Rodeo”.  Stephanie Hedin Crop did a wonderful job with decorations that depicted an actual rodeo area complete sponsor banners and all.   The opening number for the Fashion show simulated an actual “Grand Entry” and was complete with a serpentine, sponsor flags, and queen runs alike.  Guest were treated to the likes of Wyane Brooks, PRCA announcer, and JJ Harrison a rising star in the PRCA contract act world as a clown/barrel man.  

The contestants did a wonderful job on their prepared speeches as well as the three impromptu questions.   They were asked to give a “radio spot” on the Canby Rodeo, asked about how they felt bullying was affecting our young people and why its such a common occurrence, and lastly had to describe 3 qualities that they look for in a boyfriend that their horse already has.   The answers showed evidence of study and practice.  Each of the girls had unique answers to each of the questions.  

After the Fashion Show, it was off on a field trip to McGloughlin Field and a much needed trip to Baskin Robbins, with the 90 degree heat, it was a refreshing trip for sure!
