Queen Kayla Vincent

Kayla Vincent is the 18 year old daughter of Ron and Sue Ellen Vincent of Madras, Oregon.  Kayla has 15 year old twin brothers, Bryce and Levi.  She lives in the same house she was raised in on the Vincent Family’s farm and ranch.  She graduated from Madras High School in 2010 and is currently attending Western Oregon University where she is majoring in Math Education and Business.  Throughout her life she was very involved in many different equestrian activities, and she has tried just about everything you can do on the back of a horse.  She participated in 4H for nine years where she competed in performance, gaming, and ranch horse classes.  The highlight of her 4H career was when she won a medallion in Showmanship at the 2011 State 4H Horse Fair, which was a long time goal of hers.  Every since she was born, she has been on the back of a horse, and even though she started out showing performance horses, she found her true passion when she began to rope.  She joined the Oregon High School Equestrian Team when she was a freshman and competed all four years.  She was the captain for two years and, qualified for state three years in multiple events. 

Ever since she was little, she knew she wanted to do something with horses.  When she tried out for her first title in 2010 and her mother took her to the Spray rodeo, she could tell that Kayla was hooked on representing the sport of rodeo.  She represented the Jefferson County Fair and Rodeo in 2010 and the Wheeler County Fair and Rodeo in 2011.  In June of 2011, she tried out for the title of Miss Teen Rodeo Oregon, which is something that she knew she always wanted to do.  Kayla was crowned at the Saturday Night performance of the Tillamook Rodeo.  She won the categories of Photogenic, Horsemanship, Knowledge, and Appearance.  Kayla is very excited to begin her year with her partner, her 21 year old quarter horse Zan.  Zan is the best partner because she knows when its time to run, yet she also knows when its time to be calm.  Kayla can’t wait to see and meet new people, so if you see her at a rodeo, feel free to come up and introduce yourself!
